What is No Rest for the Wicked?

No Rest for the Wicked is an action RPG from Moon Studios, the creators of the Ori games. Its combat asks you to read an opponent, judge distance, and commit to a strike without using all the stamina you need to escape. A weapon is more than a damage number: its reach, attack rhythm, and recovery affect which openings you can safely take.

King Harol is dead. As the crown passes to his untested son Magnus, the Pestilence returns after a thousand years and spreads corruption across the land.

You are a Cerim, a holy warrior drawn into the turmoil of Isola Sacra. Fight through a handcrafted campaign, restore the city of Sacrament, build a home, craft equipment, and confront the forces competing for control of the island.

Building a character means fitting weapons, armor, and runes to the way you fight. If a setup leaves you unable to dodge after attacking, another damage upgrade may not solve the problem. Our beginner build guide explains how to test those trade-offs before investing further. Exploration matters too: a community map can help you orient yourself, but a marker does not explain every route, prerequisite, or change in your world.

The game is available on PC through Steam Early Access. The full release, planned for PC and PS5, has moved to March 2027 following Moon Studios’ September 1 delay announcement. A redesigned progression system is planned. An Early Access build recipe is therefore not a guaranteed launch build. Check the platform release overview before treating a planned console version as playable today.

This wiki brings together practical starting advice, map guidance, and source-backed answers about platforms and multiplayer.
